The last-gasp winner for Arsenal against title rivals Leicester City sparked 51,000 tweets per minute in a top 10 for the season so far dominated by incidents involving the Gunners

Danny Welbeck's late winner for Arsenal over Leicester not only sparked jubilant scenes all over north London but sent Twitter into overdrive as the most-tweeted about moment of the Premier League season thus far.

In statistics compiled by Twitter, the striker's header sparked 51,000 tweets per minute, overtaking Alexis Sanchez's goal against Manchester United in October which generated 47,000.

Incidents involving Arsenal dominate the top five for 2015-16, with Ozil's goal in the same 3-0 win over United coming in third and Gabriel's Diego Costa-provoked red card against Chelsea in fourth.

Christian Benteke's acrobatic finish, also against United, ranked in fifth place.

Continuing the trend of big goals in big matches attracting the most tweets, the rest of the top ten most tweeted about moments of the season include the clubs challenging for the title.

Fernandinho's goal for Manchester City against Chelsea in August comes in at number six, ahead of Olivier Giroud's goal against the same opposition in December.

Perhaps surprisingly, Jamie Vardy's record-breaking 11th consecutive scoring outing in the Premier League only ranks in eighth place, but the striker beat team-mate Robert Huth, whose second finish against City earlier in February comes in at ninth.

Rounding up the top ten is Anthony Martial's strike on his debut against Liverpool in September, generating 30,700 tweets per minute as the £60 million summer buy announced himself in dramatic fashion.
