The Germany playmaker was forced off with an ankle knock towards the end of his side's comfortable 2-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday
Arsene Wenger has played down Mesut Ozil's ankle injury which saw the German playmaker withdrawn during the second half of the 2-0 Premier League win over Everton at Goodison Park.
Ozil went down following a challenge with John Stones with around 15 minutes to play, clutching his ankle, before being helped from the field by the Arsenal fitness staff.
World Cup holders Germany play two international friendlies against England and Italy before the resumption of the Premier League season but Wenger allayed fears that the £42 million man would be a long term casualty.
"It's ankle problem but it looks more a kick than a ligament problem," Wenger told reporters.
Arsenal's 2-0 success against Everton came following eliminations in the FA Cup to Watford and in the Champions League to Barcelona and puts the Gunners within three points of Tottenham and eight of Leicester City in the chase for the Premier League title.
