West Ham retain hope of signing Carlos Bacca but the AC Milan striker is still considering offers from clubs in the Champions League, Goal understands.

Slaven Bilic’s side have launched a £26 million bid for the 29-year-old, who scored 18 goals in 38 Serie A appearances last season.

The Colombia international is currently earning £60,000 a week at Milan but West Ham are ready to make him one of their highest earners, and are confident that the financial package they have offered has not been bettered by any other side competing for the striker’s signature.

West Ham remain desperate to sign a marquee forward this summer, having already missed out on a move for Michy Batshuayi, who joined Chelsea from Marseille earlier this month.

The Hammers were also keen on a move for Alexandre Lacazette but Lyon rejected their £31m offer.

Barca remains open to leaving Milan after just one season in Italy, and the Serie A club are likely to make a profit on the Colombian as they paid £21m to activate his release clause with Sevilla last July.

"My future's in God's hands. Everyone knows I have a four-year contract with Milan," Bacca told AS earlier this week.

"There are offers and there's interest from clubs in England, Spain, Italy, France and Germany. It's not easy to make a decision.

"We have time, we're calm. My representative is speaking with clubs and with Milan."
