Governor Nyesom Wike has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of playing politics with the issue of insecurity throughout Nigeria, The Guardian reports.
The Rivers governor claimed that this is why banditry and violence, especially in the north, has come to stay.
His words:
βBanditry will never end since theyβve politicised security issues. I told them donβt politicise security issues. Theyβre now paying the price. Whatever people sow, they will reap. If you sow peace youβll reap peace and if you sow trouble, trouble will always be with you.β
According to Vanguard, Wike said back in 2015, he cried to the federal government concerning the growing rate of violent crimes, but that he was seen as an enemy of the nation.
He went on to state that if the government had fought the menace then, things will not be as bad as they are now.
