Uruguay got off to a terrible start at the Copa America Centenario, even before the first ball was kicked and Mexico opened the scoring four minutes in.

As the two sides were introduced to the crowd in Glendale, Arizona, the organizers of the event played the correct national anthem for Mexico, but instead of playing the right tune for Uruguay, the stadium speakers blasted the national anthem of Chile.

An apology was released by the Copa America during halftime of the match.

"This evening during the pre-match ceremony, due to human error, we inadvertently played the incorrect national anthem," a statement read. "We sincerely apologize to the Uruguayan Federation, the Uruguay national team, the people of Uruguay and to the fans for this mistake. We will work with all parties involved to ensure such an error does not occur again."

As you would imagine, the players did not look pleased at hearing the wrong anthem being played, a mistake that should never happen.
