Yesterday morning, college students on the Yaba College of Technology shut down the establishment to protest a vicious assault on one of many college students by an unnamed assailant recognized merely as a member of a cult group. The stabbing assault befell Wednesday night time.
It learnt that the school’s college students started their protests round 10 p.m. on Wednesday.
“The whole campus erupted with students spilling out to take over every area of the campus in condemnation of the attack,” one of many college students instructed a News Media a News Media correspondent.
“We continued our demonstration this morning, closing the varsity gates towards any exercise on the campus,” he additionally said.
One pupil described the victim as “an athletic fellow,” including that he was badly stabbed by the offender.
Some eyewitnesses stated they weren't conscious of any dispute between the victim and his attacker previous to the assault.
“In fact, the guy (victim) was even begging [the culprit], asking what offense he had committed, but the cult guy was just muscling the more as if he had hatred for him before,” stated a pupil who witnessed the violence.
Several college students disclosed that cult actions had been rampant on the campus of Yaba College of Technology in current instances. Some of the scholars accused the establishment’s administration of being too weak to reply to the actions of the more and more lawless cult teams.
In separate interviews, a number of college students stated feminine victims of a collection of rape assaults by cult members had filed experiences with the faculty’s authorities, with little or no motion. Other college students reported theft of things belonging to harmless college students, unwarranted bodily assaults, and daylight initiation rites for brand new members of cults on the campus.
“Two weeks ago, [cult members] molested one female student,” a pupil of the humanities division instructed said. Another pupil interjected: “But two weeks is a long time here. Just yesterday, another was molested and they slapped a young man trying to question them.”
The college students gathered on the campus yesterday ready to be addressed by the pinnacle of the Students Affairs division.
“They will only plead with us as usual to remain calm,” one pupil said. He added: “They won't necessarily take any effective step to stop this evil or bring the perpetrators to book.”
