The festivities of the Yankees season opener will have to wait another day.
Facing a dreadful forecast that called for rain all day, the club postponed the game at about 8:30 a.m. It will be made up Tuesday at 1:05 p.m.

All indications are the pitching matchup will stay the same — righthander Masahiro Tanaka against Astros lefthander Dallas Keuchel, a rematch of last year’s AL wild-card game, won by Houston, 3-0.
New Yorkers awoke to temperatures in the high 30s and, more significant, steady rain. According to weather.com, there was a 75 percent chance of rain at 1 p.m., with a 100 percent chance by 3 p.m. Tuesday’s forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and a high of 43 degrees.
Fans with tickets to Monday’s game can use them for the rescheduled game or exchange the tickets for any regular-season game at the Stadium through the end of the season, pending availability.
