The Yankees have traded Carlos Beltran to the Texas Rangers, the team announced Monday afternoon.
The Yankees received a trio of right-handed pitching prospects from the Rangers: Dillon Tate, Erik Swanson and Nick Green.
Beltran hit .304 with a .344 on-base percentage, 22 home runs and 64 RBIs in 99 games with the Yankees this season. He was the team leader in average, home runs, RBIs, hits (109) and OPS (.890) and was tied for the team lead with 21 doubles.
Tate, 22, was the fourth overall pick in the 2015 MLB draft. He was 3-3 with a 5.12 ERA, 55 strikeouts and 27 walks in 17 games (16 starts) for Single-A Hickory this season.
Swanson, 22, was 6-4 with one save and a 3.43 ERA in 19 games (15 starts) with Single-A Hickory in 2016. He was the Rangers’ eighth-round pick in the 2014 draft.
Green, 21, was 2-2 with a 4.98 ERA, 44 strikeouts and 14 walks in seven starts with short-season Single-A Spokane in 2016. He was a seventh-round pick of the Rangers in the 2014 draft.
