Yaradua and GEJ
Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has claimed that former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s power projects were sabotaged by his successor late Musa Yar’adua.
He spoke in reaction to recent accusation by President Muhammadu Buhari that Obasanjo used $16b on power project.
As stated by Fani-Kayode, Obasanjo never lavished $16 billion on power projects.
He told Channels TV that Obasanjo spent $3.4b on electrification of the country during his time.
In addition, he claimed the Obasanjo administration purchased 18 gas turbines, initiated the National Integrated Power Project (NIPP) which the Yar’adua government, according to him, killed just to discredit his predecessor.
Fani-Kayode also accused the President Muhammadu Buhari administration of trying to destroy the reputation of past leaders, describing it as a government that thrives on lies.
