Yobe Govt To Reconstruct At Least Five Schools In 2018File photo

The Yobe state Government have welcomed home 29 citizens recently deployed to the country from Libya.

The returnees were part of the deported Nigerians from Libya via the Porthacourt International airport south-south Nigeria.

The state commissioner of Justice Barrister Ahmed Goneri who is the chairman of the repatriation committee in the state said the returnees from Yobe willingly submitted themselves to be returned to Nigeria sequel to the breakdown of law and order in Libya.

The chairman said, the returnees are well established business men in Libya and need to be integrated fast into the Nigeria society to enable them continue with their legitimate means of livelihoods and calls for the corporation of relevant authority and the people to enable the returnees settle well and in good time.

“These returnees we received submitted themselves willingly to the relavant authorities to be returned home following the breakdown of law in Libya.

“They are there doing their legitimate businesses and we need to support them at this critical period towards their settlement here in Nigeria” the chairman stated.

He also revealed that relevant authorities at the Porthacourt International airport has also confirmed that the returnees are in good state of health which should be assisted in the integration process.

“The authorities at the Portharcour airport have scrutinized them medically and otherwise and have affirmed that they are well and fit to be integrated into the society and we need to accord them all the necessary support as they returned to their fatherland”

The Permanent Secretary State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) Mister Idi Jidawa on his part appreciated the effort of the Gaidam Administration for taking immediate actions towards the wellbeing and safe returned of the deportees.

He stated that the state Government under the leadership of Governor Gaidam is ever ready to welcome more indigenes of Yobe State who are interested in returning home and to reunite with their loved ones.

“Immediately the Governor heard that some Yobe indigenes were among the deported people, he directed that the chairman and some members of SEMA should proceed to Portharcourt immediately to convey them home and to ensure they are reunite with their families.

“I can assure you that the Governor is ever willing and ready to receive and accommodate more Yobe state indigenes who are in similar situations at any point in time”

The deportees were then handed over to their respective local Government representatives to reunite them with their families.
