Newsday’s Marc Carig confirmed through a source that the two sides are talking. The Mets had told Cespedes’ agents to call if they’d consider a three-year deal, which they apparently did. VoteMets 2016 keep 'em or dump 'em? The Mets have stood firm on their stance to not offer Cespedes, who’s played on four teams in his four-year career, a long-term deal.
