One of the first tuning companies to take on the latest Audi A4 Avant is called B&B Automobiltechnik and offers a series of visual and performance upgrades for the estate.
One of the most popular engines available on Ingolstadt's wagon in Europe, the 2.0-liter TDI, can be boosted from 190 PS and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque to 230 PS and 460 Nm (339 lb-ft) of torque, in Stage 1, which costs €1,198 ($1,363), while Stage 2 will bring the total output to 250 PS and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque, for €2,950 ($3,357).
The 3.0-liter TDI can also be massaged from 272 PS and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque to 310 PS and 670 Nm (495), for €1,698 ($1,932), or up to 326 PS and 695 Nm (513 lb-ft), for €1,950 ($2,219). Stage 3 will unleash 350 PS and 725 Nm (535 lb-ft) of torque, for €3,950 ($4,495), allowing the car to go from naught to 100 km/h (62 mph) 1.1 seconds faster than the standard model, in 4.5 seconds, and up to 275 km/h (171 mph).
Petrol burners haven’t been left aside either as the 2.0-liter TFSI can be had in three stages as well, from 252 PS and 370 Nm (273 lb-ft) of torque to 300 PS and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) for €1,298 ($1,477), to 320 PS and 460 Nm (339 lb-ft) for €1,798 ($2,046) and up to 365 PS and 530 Nm (391 lb-ft), which will set you back for €7,950 ($9,047). The beefier 3.0-liter TFSI V6 can be upgraded all the way up to 450 PS and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque, from the standard 354 PS and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft), in Stage 3, which costs €5,950 ($6,771).
In order to cope with the extra power, the 7-speed S tronic and 8-speed Tiptronic transmissions benefit from software optimizations. Aside from the performance boost, B&B also offers a range of upgrades that include an extra oil cooling system, coilover suspension, sport spring set, improved brakes, sports exhaust tips with a sound generator, Caractere aerodynamic package and 19- or 20-inch light-alloy wheels.
