Honda may have the least truck-ish truck, but the 2017 Ridgeline is gunning right at the compact (midsize) pickup market.
We've just driven Honda's new truck and have first drive impressions of the 2017 Ridgeline now. When the truck goes on sale in June, the least-expensive RT two-wheel drive will start at $30,375. The all-wheel drive equivalent will sticker for $32,175, both prices including a $900 destination charge. All-wheel drive will be an $1,800 on Ridgelines, except on the top RTL-E and Black Edition, where it's standard.

The Ridgeline is offered in six different variants, beginning with the RT, which includes 18-inch aluminum wheels, Bluetooth and USB connections and a 5-inch display audio with backup camera. RTS grants keyless entry and three-zone climate control. Sport has various styling garnishes and RTL gets leather upholstery and a power driver's seat, along with heated front seats, for just under $35,000. You have to step up to an RTL-T to get the 8-inch touchscreen radio to get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as Garmin Navigation, Honda's LaneWatch system and some LED running lights.

The $42,270 RTL-E goes further with a sunroof, power sliding rear window, lane departure prevention, adaptive cruise control and the truck bed speakers, along with more sound insulation in the cab. Finally, the Black Edition takes the RTL-E and dips it in black paint. Your call if that's cool.

The 2017 Ridgeline should be on Honda lots in the U.S. by the middle of June.
