The Reformed-All Progressives Congress says moves by leaders of the main party to entice them with automatic tickets to run for next year’s election would not stop the group from leaving the APC.

Spokesman for the R-APC, Kassim Afegbua, said the President Muhammadu Buhari administration had not fulfilled what it promised Nigerians during the build-up to 2015 elections.

The leadership of APC, it was learned, had been working behind the scene to prevent aggrieved federal lawmakers from leaving the party by offering them automatic tickets to contest the 2019 elections.

It was also gathered that the APC promised Saraki that he would retain the senate presidency in 2019.

“We, members of the R-APC, find it very amusing that those who boasted that they won’t lose sleep over our altruistic action, have been hopping from door to door pleading with our members not to leave by dangling juicy carrots and promising them heaven and earth,” Afegbua said in a statement.

“Such level of double standard is the reason why the R-APC was birthed in the first place because the leadership is not one that keeps promises and it’s the reason why no one should take the APC seriously.”
