Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa is currently mourning with the Ajimobi family, the people and Government of Oyo State on the passing of previous Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
He had his say in a recent statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Olisa Ifeajika, in Asaba.
According to him, the death of Ajimobi at this critical time of Nigeria’s political history is painful and regrettable.
He added that the deceased contrihowevered immensely to the Nigeria Governors’ Forum while he was Governor of Oyo State.
His words, “The late Ajimobi was a patriot and a political icon whose life-long dedication and indefatigable commitment to serving the people will be unforgettable.
“He made history when he was re-elected in 2015 to become the first democratically-elected Governor of Oyo State to serve two terms. “His contrihoweverions to the social, political, and economic development of Nigeria and indeed, humanity will forever remain indelible in our hearts.
“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta, I commiserate with his family, Governor Seyi Makinde, the government and people of Oyo State, the numerous friends, associates, well-wishers and admirers of the deceased political colossus and a patriot per excellence, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
“It is my prayer that God grant the immediate family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
