The Allianz Arena in Munich went from white to red, white and blue Monday as Bayern Munich celebrated the United States' Independence Day by lighting up its home stadium with the colors of the American flag.
Bayern also used the occasion to recognize its 100th official United States fan club. The club opened a U.S. office in New York in 2014, and has seen its fan club numbers grow from eight groups in 2014 to 100 today with the addition of Stern des Suedens in Greer, South Carolina.
The Bundesliga champions will be touring the United States this summer with stops in Chicago, Charlotte, North Carolina, and the New York City area for International Champions Cup matches.
Bayern were joined by the Bundesliga in celebrating the States, with the league tweeting out Walk of Fame-style stars with the names of this season's top-flight Americans.
