The Sylva-Igiri Campaign Organization of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied being responsible for the abduction of cy Keme Dickson, the 26-year-old sister to Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State.

The campaign organization faulted a statement credited to Dickson Restoration Campaign Organization, that the APC was behind the recent kidnap.

The Sylva-Igiri Campaign Organization, in a statement signed by its Director of Media and Publicity, Chief Nathan Egba, described the accusations as “the most stupid statement ever issued by anybody.”

Egba said: “While we sympathise with the Dickson’s family and condemn in very strong terms the kidnap of the young lady, we want to also condemn the irresponsible statement from the PDP Campaign spokesman, Jonathan Obuebite.

“We are sure Obuebite Jonathan didn’t even realise that by this statement, the PDP was clearly ‎admitting their involvement in the recent kidnapping of family members and business associates of the APC Candidate, Chief Timipre Sylva and his running mate, Elder Wilberforce Igiri.

Recall that Mr. Koinpre Douglas, a first cousin of Chief Timipre Sylva, was reportedly abducted on the day the APC Governorship campaign train visited Brass LGA.

Also, in the heat of the campaign period leading to the elections, unknown gunmen kidnapped three construction workers, working on a project in Okpoama, home-town of Chief Sylva.

Egba reminded the PDP that in the heat of campaigns, unknown kidnappers abducted the 90 years old mother of Elder Wilberforce Igiri, Chief Sylva’s running mate, and held her in captivity for over three weeks.

“So is the PDP saying that having carried out these kidnappings, including that of the Wife of Rt. Hon. Nestor Binabo, the APC is now retaliating by orchestrating the kidnap of Gov. Dickson’s Sister?

“People need to reason like educated adults and stop making all manner of statements with a view to scoring cheap political points,” Egba warned.

The APC governorship campaign spokesman maintained that Bayelsans are not ruling out the possibility of the ruling PDP government stage-managing the kidnap saga, with a view to attracting sympathy from Southern Ijaw voters.
