David Beckham’s MLS record for the most free-kicks scored since 2010 has been beaten by Sebastian Giovinco.
The Italian scored two stunning free-kicks in Toronto FC’s 4-1 victory over DC United on Sunday to move his tally to seven goals from set-pieces since he moved to MLS last year.
Giovinco is now one clear of Beckham, who scored six times from free-kicks for LA Galaxy, and Real Salt Lake midfielder Javier Morales.
Giovinco may be leading the way with the most goals scored from free-kicks, but the former Juventus forward doesn’t have the best conversion rate in MLS history.
The Italian has scored seven times from 76 attempts - a rate of 9.2 percent - far behind former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, who has a conversion rate of 22.7%, with five goals scored from 22 attempts.
Beckham’s conversion rate stands at 13% - scoring six times from 46 free-kicks.
