Wife of the Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Mrs. Miracle Martins, has called on corporate organizations in the country not to neglect the victims of the Boko Haram insurgency.

Mrs. Martins made the call in Adamawa state at the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Camp over the weekend at the distribution of Ovaltine beverages food drink to the victims of the Boko Haram in the state.

She stated that the victims did not envisage being in this present predicament adding that its individual and corporate kind gesture would erase the memory of the barbaric act perpetrated by the Boko Haram sect.

While commending the company for the philanthropic gesture, she quickly added that more still need to be done as the victims require urgent rehabilitation and reunion with their families.

In her welcome address, the Senior Brand Manager, Twining Ovaltine Nigeria, Mrs. Taye Adewunmi stated that the company recognizes the plights of the victims, hence the need to support the government efforts to make life meaningful before their reunion with their families.

Mrs. Adewunmi disclosed that the product is all about nourishment adding that the gesture was part of the company social responsibility policies to always give back to the society it operates.

“Ovaltine recognized that this is the right time to respond to the plight of the Internally Displaced Persons because they require our collective support and empathy at this critical moment of their life” she stated.

Mrs. Adewunmi went on to say that the Ovaltine gesture is all about responding to the humanitarian need of the displaced persons at this critical moment of their life. We feel their pain and the need to be provided with nutritious food so they can remain healthy and be able to live active life in spite of their current predicament”, he stated.
