President Muhammadu Buhari has mourned the death of Brigadier General Femi David Lasisi Bamigboye.
Famzn News had reported earlier that Bamigboye, who was the first Military Governor of Kwara state, died on Friday at the age of 78 in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city after a brief illness.
The president’s condolence message was contained in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital on Friday.
In the statement, President Muhammadu Buhari said Bamigboye would be long remembered for his service to the nation in a variety of roles.
The President paid tribute to his enduring commitment to the development of Kwara during his tenure as military governor.
President Muhammadu Buhari particularly acknowledged Bamigboye’s far-reaching role in helping to lay the foundation for an effective education system and civil service in the State.
The president prayed that Almighty God would comfort his family, friends and associates in this period of grief and grant the soul of the departed eternal rest.
