President Muhammadu Buhari will on Dec. 29 attend the inauguration of President Roch Marc Christian Kabore of Burkina Faso.
The president made the disclosure at a joint press briefing with the Interim President of Burkina Faso, Michel Kafando, after their closed door meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday.
As stated by him, the decision was prompted by a special invitation extended to him by the out-going interim president.
“I congratulated (Michel Kafando) him personally for conducting free, fair and credible elections.
“That is why I accepted the invitation to go for the inauguration on Dec. 29, instance.”
President Muhammadu Buhari congratulated the government and people of Burkina Faso for their commitment to entrench constitutional order and democracy.
Kafando had earlier expressed his country’s appreciation to Nigeria for restoring democracy in his country.
He extended an invitation to President Muhammadu Buhari for the inauguration of Burkina Faso’s new President on Dec. 29.
