The Abuja division of the Federal High Court has ordered the immediate release of the Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.
In his verdict on Thursday, Justice Adeniyi Ademola, said it was illegal for the Department of State Services to still be holding Kanu after an order of the court to free him.

A Chief Magistrate led by Shauibu Usman, yesterday discontinued the trial of Kanu, following a motion to that effect filed and argued by the prosecuting counsel, Mr. Moses Idakwo.
This was just after the Department of State Services (DSS) dropped the charges against the Biafran activist in order to enable them pursue his trial at the Federal High Court that has original jurisdiction on terrorism.
