Sokoto state governor, Aminu Tambuwal.
Governor Nyeseom Wike of Rivers State has alleged that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission will come after Sokoto State governor Aminu Tambuwal.
Tambuwal had on Wednesday left the ruling party All Progressives Congress (APC) to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking with the press at the Government House in Port Harcourt, Wike noted that the President Muhammadu Buhari government will start intimidating Tambuwal.
“There are some people who have stated that we cannot continue to live in a world of intimidation. We cannot continue to live in a world of harassment,” Wike said.
“Every right thinking Nigerian should come together to see that something is done to salvage the country.
“I am aware that with what he has done today, the next line of action, the APC Federal Government will unleash the EFCC on the Sokoto State governor and his government.”
“Nigerians should not be swayed by claims that the APC leaders are not worried about Tambuwal’s defection.
“Recall that Tambuwal as speaker of the House of Representatives led the formation of the coalition that prompted the victory of the APC in 2015.”
