The challenge of high heels at Cannes has been a spiky one lately.
Now it appears Kristen Stewart, a member of this 12 months's jury on the movie pageant, has flouted the ban on flat sneakersby as a substitute going barefoot on the pink carpet.
The Twilight actress wore black Louboutin heels as she arrived on the BlacKkKlansman premiere.
But earlier than coming into the screening of the Spike Lee movie, she slipped off her sneakers to stroll up the steps.
She was apparently not sanctioned for taking off her heels. The BBC has contacted the Cannes Film Festival for a remark.
Last 12 months, Stewartwho's been recognized to put on trainers with clothes on the pink carpetspoke in regards to the occasion's vogue guidelines.
"There's undoubtedly a distinct gown code, proper?" she advised the Hollywood Reporter. "People get very upset if you happen to do not put on heels or no matter.
"I really feel like you'll be able to't ask folks that any extrait is a given. If you are not asking guys to put on heels and a gown, you can't ask me both."
In 2015, it was reported that ladies had been turned away from pink carpet premieres for carrying flat sneakers.
The ban brought on stars to talk out towards the rules, with British actress Emily Blunt saying the alleged ban was "very disappointing".
Speaking on the time, she stated: "all people ought to put on flats, to be trustworthy. We should not be carrying high heels anyway. That's my perspective."
Stewart is not the primary individual to take her sneakers off on the pink carpet since then, with Julia Roberts going barefoot at Cannes in 2016 on the premiere for Money Monster.
BlacKkKlansman, which tells the story of an African-American infiltrating the KKK and stars John David Washington and Adam Driver, was given a standing ovation on the finish of its premiere on Monday evening.
