CC Sabathia Placed On DL By Yankees With Left Groin Strain

Yankees starter CC Sabathia was placed on the disabled list with a left groin strain, the team announced Friday.

Sabathia went 2-2 with a 3.81 ERA, 21 strikeouts and 13 walks in 28 1/3 innings before the injury.

The Yankees signed lefty reliever Phil Coke to a major-league contract and selected him to the 25-man roster in a corresponding move. Coke was previously at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
