Tammy Abraham's 10 goals in 22 games have him up near the top of the Championship's scoring charts, leading to a ton of interest from the media and on social networks, but he is keeping grounded after joining Bristol City on loan from Chelsea in the summer.

The 19-year-old striker is already an integral part of Lee Johnson's side, despite only recently making the step up from Chelsea's FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League winning academy.

He recently scored against Huddersfield Town, but still sees himself as a long way from the finished article, despite drawing praise from Chelsea boss Antonio Conte back at his parent club in October.

Abraham, speaking on Alex Hunter and The Journey to Goal for EA SPORTS FIFA 17, said: "You can't let the hype get to you and affect you really. You just have to take it as a motivational thing. Take it on the chin and try to give my all whenever I am out on the pitch.

"I didn't let it affect me and it is what you do out on the pitch that lets you enjoy anything good off the pitch, so whenever I am out there on the pitch, even when I am not scoring, I am looking at helping my team to get them results and that's what I try to do.

"It is a good achievement from me [to get those goals] and it is just good that I am doing well, but hopefully we get the results to go with it. It would be a much better feeling. It is just the beginning and I hope it just gets better for me and, ultimately, us."

Abraham has been branded as "Chelsea's Marcus Rashford" after his incredible scoring run at the start of the season which saw him net a goal in almost every game that he started. This form carried over from Chelsea's academy where he converted 74 times in 98 matches across all competitions for the west Londoners' various youth sides.

However, in recent weeks Bristol City's dip in form has resulted in fewer goals and chances for Abraham - who netted a further three times in the EFL Cup this season. He believes that he is learning more now, in a struggling team, as he is required to make reflections on his performances.

"Yes, of course you do [learn more from a loss]," added Abraham. "When you are winning and things go well, you take advantage of it. When things go badly, you need to get your mentality right. In the tough times, you just have to keep going and give your all.

"It will turn around soon hopefully. When you are out there on the pitch, you just have to give 100%. Things go well if you keep going game after game, so you have to be ready to make it right.

"When you play a lot of games [at this level], you come to realise that chances don't come as often as when you are playing youth football. You are playing against harder opponents. It makes you want to take your chances even more when they do come. It is a challenge, but something you have to get your mind into.

"You are not going to score in every game. It is just about what you do overall in the game and what you can do, just to help the team.

"If I am not scoring goals then I am just looking to work my socks off to help the team with scoring their goals instead and get the result. That is what matters. I'm just picking up experience really, learning against top defenders receiving things after each different game.

"You receive tackles off the ball, you receive people saying things to you, but you have to get your around it and learn. I knew from the beginning when I was starting and scoring goals that defenders were going to start targeting me, to stop me.

"You have to adapt the way you play in those kinds of situations. Find the weaknesses of your opponents and use your strengths."

Abraham will hope to continue his scoring record at the weekend as Bristol City face Preston North End at Ashton Gate on Saturday afternoon.
