A Catholic priest Rev. Fr. Jerome Okonkwo, has lamented the killings within the nation, saying it'd quickly grow to be a norm it not tackled.
The clergy stated this on Sunday throughout his homily at St. Joseph Chaplaincy, Imo State University, Owerri.
As said by him, “Human life is very precious and should be seen and treated as such at all times. The sad thing however, is that the periodic destruction of human lives may likely become a norm in the country, if nothing decisive was done to check the trend.”
He also stated that, “the way in which individuals are being killed for very flimsy causes in Nigeria is most scandalous and never even our authorities seems to be anxious concerning the carnage.
“At the speed some Nigerians are killing their fellow residents, it makes the remainder of us to start out querying if life and dwelling not have which means in our nation.
“The hopeless thing about it all is that sometimes, we are told that the perpetrators of this damnable crime do it either in the name of God or in retaliation for lost cow or cows.”
