Herdsmen and their cows blocking Imiringi Road Bayelsa State on Thursday/
The Yoruba Youth Socio-cultural Association has referred to as on the Federal Government to not purchase land for cattle breeders within the nation.
This was in response to claims by the Chairman of Miyetti Allah Hore that land throughout Nigeria belongs to the Fulani.
President of the group, Olalekan Hammed, stated buying land for the breeders would trigger extra crises as they're already laying declare to lands within the nation.
“The Federal Government should not go ahead to acquire land for Fulani people because this will cause a serious crisis in the future,” Hammed informed Punch on Sunday.
“The Chairman of Miyetti Allah has already acknowledged that land in your entire nation belongs to the Fulani.
“The Federal Government mustn't purchase land for them in Yorubaland.
“If Fulani herdsmen wish to purchase land for his or her livestock enterprise, they need to contact state governments. If there's out there land in any state, such state will give them and they're going to make agreements on the land.
“Livestock enterprise is personal enterprise of people and the Federal Government mustn't use the nation’s assets to create ranches for the Fulani.
“The assertion that each one land in Nigeria belongs to Fulani reveals that they've a hidden agenda to dominate in all places and this may by no means be doable.
“So, in order to avoid a crisis which the proposed ranches by the Federal Government would cause in the future, we are advising them against it now. Nobody will cede an inch of Yorubaland to anybody for ranches.”
