Toronto FC forward Sebastian Giovinco remains confident of earning a place in Antonio Conte's Italy squad for Euro 2016.
The 29-year-old worked under Conte at Juventus but departed his boyhood club in January 2015 for a new adventure with Toronto in Major League Soccer.
Since joining the Canadian outfit, Giovinco has bagged 28 goals in 48 league appearances - including six in just nine outings in the new season.
And though his most recent Italy appearance came last October, the diminutive striker believes his form can convince Conte to bring him to the European championships this summer.
“Of course. I hope and I also wish that I am called up for Euro 2016,” Giovinco told Goal.
“Conte watches all Italians and will give me a fair chance.”
But following Sunday's 1-0 victory versus Dallas, in which Giovinco assisted the winning goal, the striker stated he is simply concentrating on Toronto.
“We need to focus on the victory as that's what's the most important,” he concluded.
