A High Court in Owerri on Tuesday stopped the swearing-in ceremony of Calistus Ekenze as the new Deputy Governor of Imo state.
Famzn News understands that the ruling was made after the court was approached by Eze Madumere, who is challenging his removal as deputy governor of the southeast state.
As stated by reports, the Attorney-General of the state, Miletus Nlemadim, informed the gathering about the ruling which halted the process.

The swearing-in was being held at the Sam Mbakwe expanded Exco Chambers of the Government House in Owerri when the news broke.
Governor Rochas Okorcha had on Monday nominated Ekenze as deputy governor after the impeachment of Madumere.
Madumere was impeached by 19 out of 27 members of the House on Monday.
But the man in the eye of the storm described his removal as illegal, calling the lawmakers “mere stooge in the hands of the governor.”
