Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje
The Kano State Government has described the defection of the former deputy governor, Prof. Hafiz Abubakar, to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) “as long overdue”.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Youths and Culture, Mohammed Garba in Kano on Wednesday.
As stated by the statement, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje said the defection is “long before now.”
The former deputy governor had addressed a press conference in which he related the alleged circumstances that culminated in his resignation.
Abubakar had also used the occasion to confirm his defection to the Peoples Democratic Party.
