The Abuja homes of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, have been surrounded by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) and men of the Nigerian police.
The security operatives arrived in the early hours of Tuesday.
Those at Saraki’s Maitama residence, however, left around 7:30am when the Senate President was said to have left the premises.
The operatives are understood to still be at Ekweremadu’s Apo residence.
The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, had on Monday invited Saraki to report to the Force Intelligence Response Team office at Guzape, Abuja, for interrogation over alleged links to the masterminds of the Offa bank robberies.
The IG, in a letter dated July 23 addressed to Saraki, asked him to report to the police on Tuesday (Today) at 8am to provide further clarification on his relationship with the five leaders of the robbery gang.
