Former Governor of Kaduna Yero
Former Governor of Kaduna state Muktar Yero was on Friday invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over alleged mismanagement of N750 million campaign funds.
Yero was sworn in as Governor on 16 December, 2012, following the death of his boss Governor Patrick Yakowa in a plane crash on 15 December, 2012.
He was defeated by the incumbent governor, Nasir El- Rufai, of the APC in 2015.
The commission wants Yero to explain his role in the distribution of N750 million campaign fund meant for Kaduna during preparations for the 2015 elections.
He was not the only one invited.
Others were Former Kaduna State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman Haruna Gaya and former secretary to the Kaduna State Government Hamza Ishaq.
It was gathered that supporters of the former governor laid siege to the EFCC office with placards bearing different inscriptions.
