The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has revealed that ex-FCT Minister, Olajumoke Akinjide returned the sum of N640 million.
The commission made this recognized through the trial of Akinjide and two others on Monday, earlier than Justice Muslim Hassan of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos.
EFCC investigator, Usman Zakari mentioned “No” when requested by counsel to the primary defendant, Bolaji Ayorinde, SAN, if the N10m paid by Akinjide’s huband was a situation for the discharge of his spouse.
When Ayorinde additional requested if he was conscious that the remaining N640m had been paid, Zakari mentioned: “I'm conscious that she has paid the stability of N640m, making a complete of N650m, which she paid by means of a Stanbic IBTC draft to the Commission.
“The staff investigating the matter is headed by Shaibu Shehu, an investigator with the EFCC.
“The team was raised by the Head of Operations, Lagos Zone.”
Justice Hassan adjourned the case to October 18 and 19, 2018 for continuation of trial.
