Tesla’s most affordable car won’t lack any of the electric car manufacturer’s core gizmos, including the lauded 'Ludicrous Mode'.
The company’s co-founder and CEO, Elon Musk, confirmed on Saturday – via Twitter – that the vehicle will be available with the acceleration-improving option. Of course, since we’re still waiting for more mechanical and performance details about the standard variant – which can go from 0 to 60 mph (96 Km/h) in under six seconds – we can only speculate what sort of performance off the line the Ludicrous variant will boast.

A “hefty” premium over the $35,000 starting price is expected as well, considering that the Ludicrous retrofit for the Model S/X P90D cots $10,000. However, taking into account that it – presumably – won’t accelerate as fast as its bigger siblings from standstill to 60 mph (96 Km/h), a smaller fee could be in order.

Either way, the first Tesla Model 3 units – from the 400,000 already pre-ordered – won’t make to their first customers before late 2017, so we’ll have to be patient on this one; but by the looks of it, the Model 3 is shaping up to be a very interesting car.
