Former acting DSS boss Mathew Seiyefa.
The former Acting Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS) Matthew Seiyefa, says he served Nigeria to the best of his ability while in service.
Famzn News recalls that Yemi Osinbajo had in August while in an acting capacity as President, appointed Seiyifa as the acting DG of DSS, following the sack of a former Director-General of the secret police, Mamman Daura.
However, President Muhammadu Buhari terminated the appointment in September and appointed Yusuf Bichi as the substantive DSS DG in place of Seiyifa.
Speaking at a reception in his honour held at the Bayelsa Government House, on Thursday, said: “I thank the Governor for proving leadership for all our people. Our people needed leadership and he provided it. I have served Nigeria to the best of my ability. I will pray to serve my people, with all my energy.
“We will collectively do our bit to contribute to the development of our state,” he also said.
On his part, Seriake Dickson, the governor of Bayelsa, described Seiyefa as a great ambassador of the Ijaw nation.
Dickson commended the former DSS boss for rising to the pinnacle of his career through “sheer commitment, dedication to duty and hard work while in service”.
