The refreshed Opel / Vauxhall Mokka marks two achievements for GM, debuting the first vehicle under the "X" name and previewing its upcoming North American cousin, the Buick Encore, which will be revealed in New York afterwards this month.

On display in Geneva, the subcompact SUV has a revised exterior, highlighted by the wing-shaped horizontal grille, tweaked LED DRLs, different taillights available with LED technology at an extra cost and new colors, including Absolute Red and Amber Orange.

Its dashboard mirrors the one of the COTY-winning Astra, featuring a redesigned center stack around the 7- and 8-inch displays for the new infotainment systems, added to a range of safety gizmos that include Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, Traffic Sign Assistant and Following Distance Indication.

Completing the facelifted Mokka is a new 1.4-liter direct-injected turbocharged unit, producing 152 PS (150 HP) connected to an adaptive all-wheel drive system via a six-speed automatic. Torque can be split 50/50 between both axles or sent completely to the front wheels, depending on road conditions.
