The Federal Government has stated it plans to weed out all unqualified teachers in Nigeria’s primary and secondary schools to reform the education sector.
As stated by the government, the decision was part of efforts to re-position basic education in Nigeria.
The Minister of State for Education, Professor Anthony Anwuka, told a news conference in Abuja today, that the Federal Government would no longer allow a situation where the teaching profession would be treated as an all-comers affair.
He reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to qualitative education, saying the developmental strides of any nation is dependent on the quality of education given to pupils at the primary and secondary school levels.
