Eight people were stated to have died yesterday when a female suicide bomber detonated explosives among a group of women and children arriving in Maiduguri, Borno State capital from Mafa town ravaged by Boko Haram.
Northeast director of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mohammed Kanar, told AFP that the bomber sneaked in amongst them disguised as an IDP (internally displaced person) before setting off her explosives.
Mafa district located in an area near the Nigerian border with Cameroon was under the control of the Boko Haram, which is seeking to establish an Islamic caliphate.
