The federal government has begun to air-drop of relief items to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Borno State.

The air-drop relief operation is being carried out by the ministry of humanitarian affairs, disaster management, and social development, in collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force, Leadership reported. Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouk, the humanitarian affairs on Sunday, September 6, in Maiduguri explained that both food and non-food items would be airdropped to the IDPs. She said the technique was adopted to ensure that the displaced persons who trapped in areas that can't be accessed due to the insurgency, terrain or other issues get relief materials.
