The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), yesterday in Lagos sealed off the premises of two corporations for his or her failure to pay taxes.
The Assistant Manager (Legal), FIRS, Ruth Mandeun, who led the FIRS enforcement workforce, sealed Giandan Nigeria Limited located in Lagos over tax money owed totaling N47.779 million and likewise sealed Justeen International Limited over a tax debt of N24.779 million.
In her feedback after the train, Mandeun mentioned the defaulting corporations will likely be reopened solely after they've cleared their arrears.
She mentioned, “It is kind of upsetting for us to shut down corporations, however we simply need to carry out our lawful mandate. The two corporations that have been closed down clearly defaulted in paying their taxes and they're totally conscious of the repercussions.
“They will get to be reopened, but that is after they have cleared up their debts”, Mandeun mentioned.
She maintained that the FIRS is dedicated to making sure that every one people and corporate entities pay their taxes as at when due.
