Former Tottenham and Real Madrid defender Jonathan Woodgate has taken up a role as a scout for Liverpool, Goal can confirm.
Woodgate - who has now retired having been released by boyhood club Middlesbrough following their promotion to the Premier League - will work with the Reds' team based in Spain and Portugal.
Injuries plagued the career of the England international following his move from Newcastle to Santiago Bernabeu in 2004 after he played his part in Leeds United's run to the Champions League semi-finals.
And the 36-year-old will now put his attentions towards searching for potential players that Jurgen Klopp can bring to Anfield from the continent.
