Gunmen suspected to be cattle rustlers at the weekend, abducted four Fulani women in Kaduna State.
It was learnt that the incident occurred in Akilibu village along Abuja-Kaduna road on Thursday night through the early hours of Friday.
As stated by a traditional ruler, the gunmen also killed one person who attempted to resist their onslaught.
The source stated the gunmen stormed the village, shooting sporadically and made away with cows.
At the time of filing this report, the women were still being held hostage.
Due to the ongoing military operations against cattle rustlers around Abuja-Kaduna road and some parts of neighbouring Niger State, a source stated the rustlers have changed their strategies.
The source said: “The gunmen have now changed tactics from cow rustling to abducting women and children, because the military have been hard on them.”
