Ex-Governor of Oyo state, Rashidi Ladoja
Former Governor of Oyo State, Rashidi Ladoja, on Friday vowed he won't refund any cash to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The former governor declared that he was not frightened by the continued swimsuit filed towards him by the anti-graft company.
He insisted that he wouldn't refund any cash as a result of he didn't steal whereas in authorities.
The antigraft company had dragged Ladoja to courtroom over alleged misappropriation of about N6.6 billion of state funds whereas in workplace between 2003 and 2007.
The former governor, who not too long ago returned to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) additionally gave the trace of leaving the party once more.
Ladoja informed reporters, “It was true that I didn't return any cash to the purse of the anti – graft company as a result of I didn't steal state’s cash . Why would I refund cash when I didn't steal any cash? I am not bordered. It is true that EFCC mentioned I didn’t refund cash. This is as a result of I didn't steal any cash.
“The man said Ladoja has not refunded any money and he didn’t say the amount Ladoja has stolen that has to be refunded. He said EFCC has recovered money from other people but it has not recovered any money from Ladoja, so why must I be worried? I have not refunded any money as he said. As far as I am concern, there is no case there.”
He added, “If I voluntarily went to the PDP and there was something I believed that were not doing the right way , there is no need for me to stay there. We don’t want the situation that a congress that was done correctly will now be set aside. The stakeholders in Oyo State have decided that if the impunity continues after the seven days ultimatum, we may take our leave.”
