The Imo State Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has requested the John Odigie-Oyegun-led National Working Committee of the party to hold out applicable disciplinary measures towards Governor Rochas Okorocha.

The state working committee led by Dr. Hilary Eke, in a written petition, alleged that the governor established a parallel party by appointing an appearing chairman within the state towards the structure of the party.

Okorocha had introduced Chris Oguoma, from Owerri Municipal Council, because the appearing chairman of the party, following his loss on the state congress.

The petition, which was contained in an assertion signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Nwabueze Oguchienti, reads partially: “Pursuant to Article 21D (11) of the APC constitution, the state Working Committee has made appropriate recommendations to the National Working Committee of our great party, to take adequate disciplinary measures against the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Anayo Ethelbert Okorocha, for engaging in various anti-party activities, which could lead to breakdown of law and order in the state.”

The party additionally stated it has seen with concern, the illegality perpetrated by some components within the party after profitable congresses within the state had been held, alleging that some components, who it described as impersonators, led by Oguoma, have been defrauding members of the party, significantly council chairmanship and councillor aspirants, for the proposed native authorities space election, by amassing varied sums of cash for kinds for varied elective positions.

The party maintained that the one legally-constituted government of the party within the state was the one led by Eke, which is legally permitted to deal with such issues, warning aspirants to desist from coping with the stated impersonators, because the party can't be held chargeable for any loss incurred from such fraudulent transactions.
