Globacom has congratulated Nigerians on the country’s 55th Independence Day celebrations.

In a statement signed on behalf of the company by Mr. Folarin Oludare, Globacom commended Nigerians for their resilience, patriotism, industry and enterprise over the years.

This, according to Glo, had welded the federating units together despite daunting challenges.

It urged the citizens to continue to support all developmental efforts aimed at revamping the economy and building an equitable nation.

“Currently, Nigeria is set to regain her leadership position in the comity of nations with the fresh wind of democratic change blowing across the country. It is hoped that the country’s vast resources would be judiciously harnessed for rapid industrialisation and growth propelled by good governance,” Globacom noted.

The company also praised Nigerians for successfully nurturing democracy without failure in the last 16 years, adding that the seamless transition of power from one party to another at the centre marked the coming of age of democracy in the country.

It, therefore, urged all Nigerians to continue to water the democratic tree with prayers, commitment, hard work and vigilance.

The company observed that “people remain the country’s greatest assets. There is no area of human endeavour that you will not get an outstanding Nigerian making waves globally.”

“Government at all levels should, therefore, concentrate on inculcating good morals and virtues in the leaders of tomorrow while adult Nigerians should set good examples for them,” it added.

Globacom encouraged the youth to shun vices and imbibe good neighbourliness, promising to always support Nigerians and Nigeria’s march to development through continuous provision of quality telecommunication products and services at affordable rates.
