The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has stated it will not enable factional or parallel congresses by political events.
Famzn News gathered that the electoral physique stated that it should solely acknowledge congresses authorized by the National Working Committees of the events.
INEC Director of Election and Party Monitoring (EPM) Aminu Idris revealed this in Abuja on the Nigerian Political Parties Discussion Series (NPPDS).
Idris stated, “INEC solely recognise congresses performed by the congress committee appointed and authorized by the events.
“The INEC can't go to the sector and be in search of parallel congresses exterior those performed by the congress committee appointed by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the events.
“It is the responsibilities of the parties to obey their constitutions and their approved guidelines.”
