Laurent Koscielny has been released from the France squad due to an Achilles problem in the latest injury scare to hit Arsenal over the international break.
The Germany national team announced on Wednesday that Mesut Ozil would miss up to three months with a knee injury and Koscielny has now also returned to London for treatment.
Arsenal regards the Frenchman's condition as minor and expect him to play in their next Premier League match against Hull City despite the persistence of a problem that he has carried all season.
Mathieu Debuchy is currently unavailable due to an ankle injury and Calum Chambers will miss the game against the Tigers through suspension after collecting yellow cards.
That leaves Koscielny, Per Mertesacker, youngster Hector Bellerin and left-backs Kieran Gibbs and Nacho Monreal as Arsene Wenger's available defensive options.
