TAMPA, Fla. — Nothing to see here, folks.
That was essentially Jacoby Ellsbury’s message Thursday morning when the Yankees centerfielder, not in the lineup for Wednesday’s spring training opener or Thursday’s contest against the Phillies, was also left off the travel list for Friday’s game in Lakeland against the Tigers.

But Ellsbury, who suffered a sprained right knee in late May last year that never fully healed, said he was healthy.
“Just to get a few more days of work in before I play in the first game so that will be Saturday,” he said. “That’s really it. Everything’s good.”
The 32-year-old was one of the Yankees’ top offensive performers to start last season before spraining his right knee on May 20. At the time, Ellsbury was leading the team in average (.324), on-base percentage (.412) and stolen bases (14).
He had a .224/.269/.332 slash line, with seven stolen bases, after returning July 8.
