Kaduna Crime Crackdown: 17 Bandits Arrested, Camps Dislodged

The Kaduna State Police Command has successfully dislodged several bandit camps and arrested 17 suspected criminals during a major clearance operation across four local government areas of the state between 10th and 13th February 2026.

The operation, conducted between 10th and 13th February 2026, systematically targeted identified criminal hideouts in Kajuru, Tafa, Igabi, and Kauru Local Government Areas. In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the command confirmed that several bandits were neutralised during fierce exchanges of gunfire. Additionally, suspected informants and drug suppliers linked to the criminal networks were apprehended, significantly disrupting their operations.

Suspects and Recovered Items

During the course of the intensive operation, three English-made AK-47 rifles, seven fabricated firearms, one English pistol, and a substantial quantity of hard drugs were recovered. The police noted that some of the arrested suspects sustained bullet wounds during the confrontations. Those taken into custody include alleged drug suppliers who were actively collaborating with the criminal gangs, highlighting the intricate nature of these networks.


The suspects were identified as Ahamdu Bala and Abdullahi Alh. Fulani; Ado Bayero Reku; Samaila Bala; Nasiru Rabiu; Ibrahim Bello; Jafar Adamu; Nura Abdullahi; Adamu Alh. Raini; Adamu Haruna; Ado Babwuro; Shuaibu Sa’idu; Isiya Bammi, alias Kire; Kabiru Adamu; Habibu Rabiu; Suleiman Adam; and Abubakar Idris.

Police Vow Continued Operations

The command has stated that investigations are ongoing with the aim of dismantling the wider criminal network and apprehending any fleeing suspects and their accomplices. Rabiu Muhammad, the Commissioner of Police, reassured residents that sustained intelligence-led clearance operations would continue across identified flash points. This concerted effort is designed to rid the state of banditry, illegal arms proliferation, and related offences, enhancing security for all citizens.
